Did you say Paris?

So later on today I'm setting off for Paris with my university course. It is to attend the Indigo trade fair. If you don't know, Indigo is a trade fair for 150-180 international designers/studios to present their work with the prospect of buyers buying the designs. Indigo is a great platform for up and coming designers. This show is specifically for fashion fabrics. Techniques range from applique, knits, transfer papers to embroidery and vintage.

I will be in Paris for a week but will only be attending Indigo for one of the days. So this gives me and my friends a time to soak up the culture of a different country. I mean, it's not every week you get to go to Paris... One of the fashion capitals of the world. I plan to see as much as I can in a short period of time! Museums, galleries, restaurants, architecture and shows will be on our 'to see/do list.'

Men's Knitwear

Well I know all the retailers are now stocking up with the Spring/Summer 2012 stock at this time of year but the temperatures in the north of the country are not exactly ready for tank tops and flip flops! Also I'm dedicating this post to one of my friends (you know who you are) from a group I hang out with as winter jumpers was topic of conversation with us one night in December.  Alot of excitement occured when the subject of 'christmas jumpers' was brought up... It is still a re - occurring joke now =]

I've discovered Sibling which is an alternative knitwear company which create fun and quirky designs. The company was founded in 2008 and is made up of 3 designers who are Joe Bates, Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery. They have well and truly turned men's knitwear upside down and put their own spin on traditional knitwear. The trio are inspired by a number of things but mostly music and working class youth of today. They manage to somehow create a perfect balance of kitsch and edge.
